Updated WordPress Ping List 2017

We always need our blog posts to be indexed by search engines as soon as possible. We usually have to wait for the search engine robots to crawl our publications and index them. The Ping service lets you notify search engines that your blog has been updated. Ping is an XML-RPC-based push mechanism whereby a blog notifies a server that its content has been updated.

When I started blogging, I would not ping my URL manually to get index fast. However the manual ping is boring and long. Then I heard WordPress Ping Update Service. The WordPress Ping update service works automatically. Each time you publish a new post or modify a previous post, ping services will notify the search engine and blog directories to index it.

How to update the WordPress ping list

By default, WordPress notifies some of the major ping services. However, expand the list by adding some more ping services. Updating the ping list is one of the essential settings to configure once WordPress is installed. Here is how to do it.

At first, log into your WordPress panel. Go to Settings and click “Write“.

Scroll down and paste above the WordPress ping list into the “Update Services“. And click “Save Changes.”

That’s. It is done. WordPress can now notify all previous ping services after publishing a new post or modifying an existing one.

If you are updating your messages a lot, you will consider using WordPress Ping Optimizer plugin. It causes WordPress pings when editing or modifying a post. This plugin controls excessive ping. However, if you do not update your posts frequently, you do not need to use this add-on.
